We are looking for a social media and fantasy sports-obsessed individual to join our team for a 12-month contract position to create social content for our fantasy handles. The ideal candidate is someone who has experience creating sports content across all the major platforms and is an expert at building out a passionate community. The perfect fit for this role would be someone who is proactive, strategic, full of ideas and truly understands the internet and the right fantasy stories to tell.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage, ideate and program for Yahoo Fantasy social media channels on Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, YouTube Shorts and Facebook
- Grow Yahoo Fantasy social handles via content and community building and proactively pitch opportunities for growth
- Create original social content (Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, etc) out of fantasy news and with Yahoo Sports’ fantasy talent
- Stay up to date on current industry trends, evolving strategies and works constantly with editorial and video teams on ensuring all types of social content are following current best practices
- Work in lockstep with Yahoo Sports’ creative team to build out proactive and on-the-fly static and video content
- Conduct research to uncover compelling fantasy/NFL statistics, trends and insights
- Stay on top of internet trends and meme culture, integrating them into social content as necessary
Requirements:
- 1-2 years programming social content or “owning” a sports social account, preferably in the fantasy sports space
- A deep understanding of the biggest fantasy sports
- Experience building out a social community
- A team player and go-getter who can multitask, stay cool under pressure and work across multiple groups to partner and collaborate on multiple initiatives
- A huge fan obsessed with all things sports, social media and internet trends
- Someone who enjoys engaging with the social audience and loves to build the conversation around our content
- Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Premiere preferred

- Contract position, hourly wage
- 40 hours/week
