Starting today, October 7, the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC) will be conducting its 5th News Engagement Day contest. This contest is designed to remind incoming college students of the importance of sharing and reading the news. The AEJMC is providing a $500 cash prize to its first-place winner. However, do not be discouraged; the top four honorable mentions will also receive a $200 cash prize.

Rules: 

  • You MUST be a student
  •  Familiarize yourself with News Engagement Day
  • Use #NewsEngagementDay on your social media post
  •  Students should post their videos on social media using #NewsEngagementDay
  •  If possible, tag @AEJMC
  • To finish your submission, send an email to samantha@aejmc.org with your name, your professor’s name, your school name, and your video. This step will ensure you are entered into the contest.
