The Dalton School, a progressive K-12 gender-inclusive school in Manhattan’s Upper East Side, is consistently recognized as one of the preeminent independent day schools in the nation. We are seeking a Communications & Media Coordinator to join Dalton’s Communications Team. This is a full-time, 12-month, in-person position, and we are looking for the right candidate to start immediately.
Responsibilities:
- Manage photography and videography calendars and assist with management of outside photo/video contractors.
- Assist with photography and videography of school events.
- Curate media galleries and maintain photo and video databases.
- Create, edit, and publish digital media to school websites and portals.
- Create and publish content for digital screens around campuses.
- Create and schedule content for social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn).
- Collaborate with the Communications team to write and publish news stories.
- Create slideshows for the Admissions office and Alumni/Advancement events.
- Track data and analytics of digital media and websites to use for planning and strategy development.
- Update publications, including brochures for Admissions/Afterschool and curriculum guides.
- Support the Communications Team in maintaining brand standards across publications, websites, and social media.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required in Communications or related field.
- Entry level position, with at minimum 1-2 years of experience that includes internal or external communications, photography and video production, and/or media management.
- Organized, self-directed, flexible, able to shift tasks based on changing priorities.
- Familiarity with photo and video editing software such as Photoshop, Lightroom, iMovie, and Final Cut Pro.
- Comfort with design software such as inDesign, Canva, and Adobe Illustrator.
- Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and strong follow-through.
- Approaches work collaboratively and works successfully in a team environment.
- Experience in an independent school environment is a plus.
Salary Range: $50,000 – $60,000. Placement in the range is commensurate with experience.
