The Content Department at SNY is responsible for the day-to-day planning and production of SNY’s on-air and digital schedule. Interns will contribute to the production of daily programs such as “Baseball Night in NY”, “Mets Pre Game Live”, “Mets Post Game Live” and “SportsNite”, while while also supporting the Content group in various production and marketing related initiatives including research, audio/video production, and news gathering.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a strong interest in sports, television production, broadcasting, and social media.
  • Conduct in-depth research for talent, producers & other personnel.
  • Assist production assistants with research and creating on-air graphics.
  • Screen and log games, press conferences, interviews, and taped programs to prepare for editing.
  • Assist Associate Producers in the edit rooms as needed.
  • Contribute to the production of “Baseball Night in NY”, “SportsNite” and Mets studio programming.
  • Prepare, copy, and distribute programming information and scripts.
  • Perform detailed work to procure footage from external sources.
  • Support the network’s day-to-day operations as needed.

  • Communication Skills: Effective communication, both written and verbal, to convey ideas and information clearly and professionally.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work well in a team environment, collaborate with colleagues from different departments, and contribute to group projects.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with essential tools and software, including Microsoft Office, Slack, and a basic understanding of Photoshop, Premiere and AVID.

Qualifications:

  • Must be currently enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution throughout the program’s duration, with a current academic standing of junior or above.
  • Pursuing or have graduated with an undergraduate degree in Communications, Broadcast Journalism, or related fields.
  • Exposure to SNY and New York sports culture, alongside a passion for digital and televised sports broadcasting.
  • Capable of meeting deadlines and effectively collaborating within a team, while also possessing the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with an excellent track record of project follow-through.
  • Detail-oriented, with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Additional Information

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by SNY.
  • Compensation: The hourly rate for this student internship is $16.50.
  • Location & Time Commitment: This role is based on-site at our New York City, NY office, with a minimum commitment of 14 hours per week. Shifts may include evenings and weekends.
