Obscured Pictures is seeking 1-2 talented, motivated film publicity interns for the Winter/Spring 2026 season. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone interested in publicity, marketing, sales or distribution of film. This is a paid position. The Role:
Working directly with the team, interns will be responsible for formatting press breaks, researching and creating media lists, scheduling, news monitoring, film research and general administrative duties. They will also have the opportunity to attend screenings and events, draft/proof written materials, brainstorm promotional ideas and build relationships within the film community.
Qualifications:
– Must have completed or be enrolled in a four-year undergraduate program in public relations, marketing, communications or film
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills, great organizational skills and attention to detail
– Must be resourceful with the willingness and capability to problem solve independently
– Passion for the film industry – we are particularly interested in those who are pursuing a career in public relations but we are open to candidates with different backgrounds and interests. A strong desire to learn will yield in better, more exciting opportunities
– Knowledge of entertainment media a plus (i.e. key film critics, print, TV, radio, podcasts and online outlets)
– Previous internship experience recommended but not required
– At least 2 to 3 full days of availability (9am – 5:30pm) during the M-F week (non-negotiable).
– Ability to come into the office at least once per week (preferably Tuesdays)
– New York/Tri-State area based applicants are preferred.
